Shane began racing bicycles at age 14 in Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up riding dirt roads until age 12, and returned to gravel racing in 2015 after years on the road. Gravel felt like home. His first gravel race back was on a Specialized Crux with 36mm tires – and finished 3rd. After a break from racing, Shane recommitted in 2020 and has since contested the world’s premier gravel events, including Unbound Gravel, The Traka, Paris2Ancaster, and every major U.S. gravel race.

Current Goals:

• 2027: Target key U.S. and international gravel events with leaderboard ambitions and increased media presence
• 2027: Debut in a gravel stage race—logistical and competitive preparation underway
