Laurien completed her first Pro race this weekend at the Lewis and Clark Gravel Classic in Montana. Temps rose to over 105deg and racing at serious altitude provided an incredible challenge. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to seeing what the future holds. Please read her short race recap below:

Perfect gravel, beautiful scenery! But what a hard race today 🥵

First time racing gravel with the elite in a women’s only start, such a great experience! Started out feeling strong and was happy to be able to hang with @emilyjoynewsom and @stellalou2 for a little bit. Then I blew up, badly. Combination of a little altitude and dry heat really got to me and I thought about quitting many times. I even got off my bike around mile 70 and decided that was the end. Very happy that I convinced myself to get back in the saddle to secure 4th place. Many lessons learnt and excited for what’s next!

Congrats @bootz4walkin for taking 6th place! And @mountain_athlete_solutions for taking 2nd in his age group in the 62miler. @true.grit.racing showed up strong today!

As always, many thanks to #newsomcoaching for getting me here, couldn’t do this without them!

Thanks for the great organization @lewisandclarkgravelclassic. I will be back next year!
